    Add and remove competitors

    You track up to 10 competitors per project and manage them in the project's Settings, under Competitors.

    Who can do this: owners and editors.

    Steps

    Add a competitor

    1. Open the project and select Settings.
    2. In Competitors, add the competitor's name and, if you can, its domains and other names.
    3. Select Save changes.

    Accept a suggested competitor

    1. In Settings, under Suggested competitors, select Find suggestions.
    2. We list brands that keep appearing in your answers, or in the sites they cite, but aren't tracked yet, with the evidence (for example, "Named in 8 answers across 3 prompts").
    3. Add the ones you want to track, then select Save changes.

    Suggestions come from the last 30 days of answers, so a new project needs collected answers first.

    Remove a competitor

    1. In Competitors, remove the competitor.
    2. Select Save changes.

    What you should see

    • A competitor you add is counted only in answers collected after you add it.
    • A competitor you remove drops out of every count, past answers included. Share of voice changes because it counts mentions of tracked brands only.

    If it doesn't work

    • You can't add an 11th competitor: 10 is the maximum per project. Remove one first.
    • "No new suggestions. We look at the last 30 days of answers.": there's nothing new to suggest yet, or the project has no recent answers.
    • "Suggestions couldn't be loaded. Please try again.": reload the page and try again.
