Pause or remove a prompt
Last updated [DATE]
When you remove a prompt, we stop collecting it and stop counting it in totals, but we keep its past answers, so you can reactivate it at any time.
Who can do this: owners and editors.
Steps
Remove a prompt
- In the prompts table, open the prompt's actions menu.
- Select Remove prompt.
- Confirm with Remove prompt.
Reactivate a prompt
- Above the prompts table, set Prompt status to Inactive.
- Find the prompt and select Reactivate.
What you should see
- A removed prompt moves to Inactive and shows Not tracked · not counted in totals. New runs don't collect it.
- Its past answers stay on the prompt's page.
- Every figure on the dashboard counts active prompts only, so removing a prompt can change your totals for past dates too.
If it doesn't work
- "20 active prompts is the limit. Remove one before you reactivate this one.": remove another prompt first.
- "The prompt couldn't be reactivated. Please try again.": reload the page and try again.
